Trump Survives Assassination Attempt Two Injured One Dead
Former President Donald Trump was injured in an assassination attempt on Saturday. A gunman opened fire at his campaign rally, resulting in the death of one spectator and injuring Trump’s ear.
The shooter, who had taken an elevated position on a rooftop outside the venue, was killed by authorities. Two other spectators were critically injured. Trump’s campaign confirmed his safety.
The FBI identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, though a motive was not immediately clear.
The incident unfolded in a harrowing and chaotic scene as Trump was about six minutes into his speech in western Pennsylvania.
The sound of gunfire rang out, and Trump grabbed his right ear before dropping to the floor. The Secret Service agents quickly surrounded and protected him.
The agents then helped Trump to his feet, escorted him offstage, and rushed him to a waiting vehicle. Despite the blood on the side of his head and ear, Trump repeatedly pumped his fist in the air and waved to the cheering crowd.
