Galgameth Galata—also known as The Legend of Galgameth or The Adventures of Galgameth—is a 1996 American fantasy-adventure. The film was directed by Sean McNamara and loosely inspired by the 1985 North Korean film Pulgasari.
The story follows young Prince Davin of Donnegold, whose father, King Henryk, is poisoned by the treacherous knight and adviser El El, who then seizes the throne and rules the kingdom with brutality.
Before dying, the King gives Davin a small black statuette said to be Galgameth, the family’s legendary guardian.
When Davin cries over it, the statue miraculously comes to life as a tiny, lizard-like creature nicknamed “Galgy.” Portrayed by Felix Silla and Doug Jones, Galgameth grows larger and stronger by eating metal.
Driven from the castle and hunted by El El’s forces, Davin joins a group of rebels planning to overthrow the tyrant.
With Galgameth at his side, he learns courage, leadership, and responsibility as he fights to reclaim his rightful crown.
