Blake Zm || Never Recovered From The Embarrasing Live Performance
It’s yet another sad turn in Zambian music to witness the talent of young Blake Zm take a steep decline — a downfall that traces back to a single live performance.
Blake Zm first caught the attention of fans through a controversy involving Yo Maps. The dispute centered on a song titled “Aweh,” which Blake claimed to have co-written with Yo Maps. However, his name was excluded from the credits, sparking heated exchanges with the Olios family. They insisted that Blake was merely present at the recording session, not an actual contributor.
Determined to prove his worth, Blake delivered a solid performance on Chef 187’s hit track “Nobody.” The song turned out to be a massive success, pulling impressive numbers and cementing Blake’s reputation as both a skilled writer and singer.
But then came the Kwacha Music Awards — the night that changed everything. During his live set, Blake’s voice came across hoarse, off-key, and completely out of tune, leaving the audience stunned. The backlash was immediate, with many fans questioning whether he had truly been the voice behind his earlier success.
Blake later explained that the poor performance was due to technical sound failures, not his own lack of ability. Unfortunately, by then the damage was already done. Since that moment, his music releases have struggled to gain traction, and his numbers have continued to dwindle
Now, the question on many people’s minds is whether Blake Zm can ever recover from that embarrassing night. Is this the end of what could have been a promising career, or does he still have a chance to make a comeback?
